Many people consider that to have been the first Gay Pride. Thankfully, there’s plenty of entertaining. The Drag Queen Story Hour project is exactly what it sounds like. On the first anniversary of the riots, several hundred demonstrators marched past the Stonewall Inn. June is Gay Pride Month, and with most of the country under restrictions due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, most major Pride events are canceled. The most cheerful (big) rainbow shortbread cookies will bring smiles to faces of all ages. Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and LGBT Pride Month events attract millions of participants around the world.
